My Husband's Birthday

Today is my husband's birthday. I have given him his gift, taken him miniatures shopping (for the Dark Sun game he runs for us on Sundays), treated him to nummy Thai food and then we both had a piece of ice cream cake. We've watched a little TV. He's settling in for a bath while I'm getting ready to take a nap before we both go to our Vampire LARP tonight.

It has been a good day.

It is my husband's birthday but I feel like I'm the one getting the gift. Just seeing him makes me smile. It is like my world is complete when he is near. He is one of those people I just like being near. We don't need to talk to communicate. We could both be reading or me reading and him gaming or whatever and then we look up, smile, and blow a kiss to each other. He makes the room feel better when he is in it.

I cannot stand the idea of Jeff not being in my life. I miss him even when I go away for just a day. I'm always happy to be home. We express our love every day in word and deed. He is the mellow to my harsh and the blunt to my sharp edges. I understand him when he is cranky. He understands me when I am crazy. We are in love and we love each other. Third year of marriage and I know it will be like this when it is our thirtieth year of marriage.

It is my husband's birthday but I'm the one who is blessed.
