Unexpected Meeting

You know that moment when you are in a public place and you see someone you recognize but they are so "out of context" that you aren't certain it is them? I had one of those moments this morning.

I was talking to jesshartley in the hotel for NOIR and my eyes passed over a guy in workout gear with short blond hair. Something in the back of my head signaled, You know that guy. So I look again. Yes, the face is familiar… and he's looking at me like he recognizes me but isn't sure it is me... Our eyes meet and his name spills from my lips, "Ryan?"

Yes! It is him. ratontheroad was in town for the Cam convention and forgot to mention it to, oh, anyone. The last time I saw Ryan was August 2008 at a CA convention. He's moved away from the Bay Area. So, my mind was having a hard time putting him in Seattle.

We had a great lunch together, catching up, while I chatted with a local author, anaka aka Michelle Lyons. It was wholly unexpected and absolutely delightful.
