Adventures with Kittens - Pharaoh Update 3

Pharaoh is home!

He is to be a conehead kitty for the next week. This will be hilarious but we will not laugh.

He is taking his medicine like a champ.

He is a mess. OMG, I didn't know Hospital Kitty had a smell. He does. I hope Isis bathes him. Everything but the stitches.

No running, jumping or playing for at least a week. This means he is to be locked up in my office with me. He gets his medicine every 8 hours. He can't eat or drink for an hour before or after the medicine. He also needs to be fed every 60-90 minutes.

It is going to be a LONG week.

But, my baby is home.

Yay! What all did they have to do to rescue your kitteh from himself?

I don't think he'll feel like playing for a little while anyway. You'll have to watch Isis if she's bathing him since she might try just that. We had a little problem between Kaylee and River doing that. Nothing a little vigilance didn't sort out.

YAAY for kitties being home.

I'm sure you and Isis are relieved beyond words.
I'm soo glad he's doing better!

FYI: if the cone is too bothersome for him, you can also take a baby onesie and use that so he doesn't clean his stitches.

I used it on Kayo many a time and it worked well.
You just have to modify the onesie for the tail and being able to go potty.

I think I'd need to see a picture of that. The incision is in the middle of his belly.

Yay! I'm glad to hear that he's home and doing better (even if it's cone-headed and heavily-medicated). Many good thoughts your way!

The hospital kitty smell is no fun! But every minute being home is worth an hour in the hospital as far as healing goes! best wishes!!

Glad the wayward one is home and well. Good luck with the feeding, and the medicine, and the water rationing.

What was IN there, anyway?

I'm so, so glad. And yeah, Hospital Kitty is a definite smell and one that usually has the other cat looking at the sick one going, "Who the hell are you???" Oh, it's you. Damn, son, you need a bath." You might have to do the first gentle wipedown before Isis will deign to touch that smell with her tongue, tho'.

Poor Elizabethan-collared boy.

YAY, I'm so glad he's home. It may be a hard week, but he'll be back at full Pharaoh strength in no time.

Conehead kitties are "teh funn-ay". But at least they're not strong enough to break the thing. We had a dog that did that, so my dad cut up a "newspaper delievery tube" (bright yellow) and harnassed that to her. New heights to the term "hosehead."

{{pets}} for P. and {{hugs}} for you, and a collective "whew". My heart was breaking every time I read your updates...
