Growth Still Hurts

I'm in a little pain right now. I'm working with my co-editor at Morrigan Books on the Grants Pass anthology. As warned, not all of the stories originally accepted could be kept because of the enhanced theme and updated background to the story premise. I asked her to write the various letters of acceptance and rejection because I was too close to it and knew it. All of these people have been with me for years, hoping the anthology would be sold. Tonight, all of the notices were read and approved by me and then sent out to the authors.

I know this is the best for the anthology. I know it. Every story cut that doesn't work with the flow of what we're creating will make my anthology stronger. But, it still hurts. I've just approved cutting out pieces of my baby.
