This session of slushpile reading was an example of excellent writing that had nothing to do with the theme of The Edge of Propinquity. As I have said to people at conventions, this is the kind of rejection that pisses me off the most. Good writing that I can't use. Fortunately, there were some good stories in the pile, too. One author was accepted on his third story to me. Another author, a repeat customer, is in the "Maybe" folder and both of these please me a lot.
