Most of what I read yesterday and today was crap. One story of 2000 words was three (count 'em 3[!]) paragraphs long. Such utter crap and a couple weren't even on theme (Far future? Space command? What?). So, it was startling to find the one gem out all of the crap submissions I read. Even better, it came from someone I met at a NaNoWriMo write-in at Soulfood Books who followed up with me. But, just to make sure it was really good and not just in comparison, I put it as a "maybe" to re-read in the next reading phase.
