I'm not sure what the market is like there now. We rent our house for $1950 a month, and it's 3 bed 1.5 bath, 1350 sq ft. But it's also on a quarter-acre lot, private with hottub and huge deck. It also has a detached studio apartment in the back and I think our renters charge $600 or so for their friend that lives there. We're about the same distance from MSFT that you are (140th and 85th).

Maybe I'm renting too low?

I can't really say, since I would only be looking at a 3-bedroom if I was with someone else. Also, is parking included?

There is one covered spot and lots of open parking.

We were willing to pay $1400 (grudgingly) for our 2/2 1100 square feet, so I could see paying $300 more for an extra bedroom. However, the main reason we liked our apartment was it was across from the very nice Bella Botega shopping center and downtown, which meant we could walk to the stores, restaurants, and movies. So I would say 1600-1700... but keep in mind, this is us... for every person that values being able to walk around, someone else will think it's great to be able to walk to work. That's the person you want--and I know he exists. Yes I said he. :-)

Merciful Speghetti Monster!

Now I'm suddenly in love with my home mortgage for my 2500 sq ft!

IN LOVE!

At this stage I could justify $1600 if there were 4 of us to move in, depending on the cost of services. With 3 or less I don't think I could afford that much.

Later on when I'm generating an *actual* income as opposed to a "ohgodohgodpaymystudentloans" income that perspective might change.

I would go for $1800 tops, and only if there were atleast one couple moving into one of the bedrooms, all the bedrooms would be in use, and every person living there would be paying equal shares.

But I'd much rather have the $1600 *grins*
