F'd Up Geek Dreams

The dreams were weird this morning. One of them was at a sci-fi con where there was an all out all-scale war between the Trekkers and the Whovians. I was on the side of the Dr. Who fans. The leader of them really liked me but the second in command did not. However, I was their only shooter. I had a Glock-17 with only one clip. I was really hesitant about this whole killing the other fans thing. I was alright about them beating each other up but I did not want to be the one to escalate it into lethal force.

While I was looking for where the actual fighting was - with the hope of stopping it somehow - I shifted over into Emerald City Chronicles, on a computer with a document open that had been stolen by someone. The document was in share mode. So, whenever the document was updated, I saw the updating and knew I could just save the document on my computer and have proof of who stole it through the Track Changes feature. But then what? I was pondering having to explain the technology in a court full of old vampires while the STs kept asking me to roll for the knowledge.

I am such a weird geek. Combat at a sci-fi convention and bringing down a rival in a LARP with proof from basic computer technology? I have NO idea what this all means my brain is going through. However, I have been on edge a lot lately. Maybe this is just a manifestation of it.

I love that you had to roll for Knowledge in your dream! You are a geek!

Yeah. I am. I've done this before. In fact, in at least one dream, I got away from the bad guy by pulling the "out of character" sign and asking him a question. When he went to go get the answer, I ran away.

Hee! We know it was a dream because in the waking world those are called magazines.

I'd be hesitant because you only had the one clip. I mean, in most cons the Trekkies are gonna outnumber everybody else 2-1.

You know, the (unwritten) rules for ECC state that if you physically have an item, you don't need to pay points for it. Not sure if that extends to knowledges, I suspect it would depend on character age; but you could make an argument based on the laptop's presence.

They stopped asking me about paying for weapons long before I left.
