Catching up.

I am now 5000 decent words into my first novel of 2007 and am feeling pretty good about the restart. Though, I have to admit, this novel is starting to make me ask some very unexpected questions like: "Were there taxi-dancers in the late 1940's and 1950's?" and "How about strip joints? Legal ones?" (If you have the answer, I would love to know.)

Also, how strange is it that I'm seriously considering starting a second non-fiction book to write on in my "fun" writing time? Honestly, who wants to write about finance in their "fun" time? Me, it looks like. As weird as that sounds, it's true. When I'm not working on a freelance contract or short story, I think I'm going to be working on a finance book. Just cause.

The follow up from Larry is that Dell is sending me not only a new HD, but new Office XP SP2 discs because I can't find mine. I've got a pact of driver URLs to look at and it looks like I'll be rebuilding my laptop as early at next week. Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with Dell's Customer Service right now. I'm glad I bought the 3 year warranty even though I didn't think I'd need it.
