Volume 9: September 2006
The September volume of the Edge of Propinquity has been published! Along with the usual set of stories from our four authors, we have two guest authors this month: E.C. Myers and Justine Musk. I hope you enjoy the stories we have for you this month that include a couple of ambushes, a betrayal, the light of hope in the darkness and the choice of a divided man.
Hidden City - Tuning In by Ryan Macklin AKA macklinr
Michael travels along with Sue and Espinosa to rescue Jason. Along the way, Michael learns about his killer, foils an attempt at murder, then gets shot at himself. Charlie has a quick meeting at the park before Claude shows up for a little chat.
Kendrick - Sins of the Brother by Jennifer Brozek AKA gaaneden
Brother Simon confesses his concerns to his superior and mentor about the current assignment - getting close to Karen Wilson to discover her plans. He is dissatisfied with the Abbot's answers because Simon is a man divided - a man faithful to his Brotherhood's cause and a man in love with a woman who does not realize the danger she is in. He fears, in the end, he will be required to choose one over the other.
Luminations - Safehouse, Part Two by Rick Silva AKA shaharazad
Trapped in a mountain hideaway, Chess fights for his life against an enemy that seems to always be one step ahead. He has begun to unravel their secrets, but he may be too late, and the final confrontation will lave lasting consequences.
Vorare - Blood Brothers by Ivan Ewert AKA ivan23
Since their imprisonment, Gordon and George have been left in their solitude. Expecting to find a cooling corpse and a half-mad ghoul, the Master Farmer's right hand man receives an unpleasant surprise - and the prisoners receive and unexpected meal.
Guest Author - Late Night at the Office by E.C. Myers AKA ecmyers
After staying late one night at the office, a man accidentally discovers what's really been going on behind the closed doors of the copy room with everyone's favorite office hottie. It's a lot more than naughty actions caught by the light of the copier machine.
Guest Author - Spontaneous Romance Encounter by Justine Musk AKA moschus
Imagine a place, a secret garden, run by someone - a psychic per chance - who knows more about what you want for yourself than you do. Would you give them a try? Even if you thought it wasn't real? But, what if it was real? What then?
Have you ever looked over the edge and seen something looking back at you?
