He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my Eye.
I do not shoot with my hand.
He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my Mind.
I do not kill with my gun.
He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my Heart."
-- The Gunslinger's Catechism, by Stephen King
Always treat all guns as if they are loaded at all times. No exception. Physically and visually inspect the gun by opening the mechanical action.
Never point a gun at anything you do not wish to see shot and/or destroyed. Point the gun in the safest possible direction based on the environment and circumstance.
Always keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
Always be certain of your target as well as what is behind and beyond it.
