The results:
Good: It's nice to hear from the dentist that I have a "surprisingly healthy" set of teeth despite my long absences from the dentist. (Brag!)
Bad: I have a new cavity and an old filling needs to be replaced with a crown.
Good: The tooth whitening is going to be really easy. They are going to make custom trays for my teeth and give me a home bleaching kit that I can use when I feel it is necessary.
Bad: I need a "deep cleaning" first before I can have any of the above done. This deep cleaning involves numbing so I don't feel the pain but because of that, they can only do one half of the mouth at a time.
Good: They have managed to condense everything I want done into two appointments - this Friday and Feb 3rd. Appointment 1: 1/2 cleaning, prepare the tooth for the crown. Appointment 2: 1/2 cleaning, fit the crown, fill the cavity and make the custom trays.
Bad: About only 1/3 of all this is covered by insurance. So, by the time I'm done with all of this, it will amount to about $1600 out of pocket. OW! Fortunately, it's not all up front and they do take credit cards.
Over All: An acceptable appointment. I like the people there. So, I will have my usual sparkling smile for DDC.
