Disenchanted with Dell

The more I have my Inspiron 8600, the more disenchanted I become with Dell laptops but the more enchanted I become with Dell support. I have just spent the last hour on the phone with Dell support. Yeah, it's 1:00 am (ish) in the morning. So? I still get good service. After some tests, she figured out that I definitely have a bad hard drive. As I have full Dell Support until 2007 (Don't know when I bought that but glad I did.), she is sending me a brand new hard drive for free and if I need help installing the OS (and all of the other software on it), I have a number to call. I should get the new hard drive on Monday or Tuesday. Thank goodness I noticed my computer acting wonky yesterday and backed up all of my important documents. So, there will be NO data loss. How cool is that?

I'm really hoping that this new hard drive fixes everything and I'm really thankful I have another computer I can use for my internet addiction. On the bad side of things, the story I was going to send out to my 1st round readers is stuck on a Windows CD and I only have an Apple to work with unless I want to go to work on the weekend... which I don't. So, it looks like I'm going to have to wait on that sucker. In the meantime, I'm going to have to work on my other stuff on this laptop. Doable.
