Lost - A very promising opening. Excellent cinematography. Very pretty over all. The story has me. I'm interested. However, I'm a little concerned about what the big monster is. I am afraid that once it is revealed, it is going to be too hokey to watch. But, there are other bits that intrigue me. The voice coming over the transceiver. The "Lord of the Flies" interactions that soon will come to pass. Where they actually are. The dog.
One word of caution. If you are nervous about flying, do not watch the opening episode just before going on a trip. It is pretty gripping, graphic and startling. Fortunately, I am not nervous about flying. Still, I'm going to be thinking of it.
Ultraviolet - Vampires versus the Vatican sponsored Technocracy. Man, I forgot just how good this series was. It's a good thing I'm not playing in a vampire game that could have these guys (the hunter group) in them. There are very few special effects and almost no "paramounticals." It is just detective work, high tech weaponry and old fashioned personal interaction. Plus, being a British made series, the camera work and style of the episode is very different. It is a lot more still. Long, uncut shots. In a way, it almost feels like a graphic novel.
