Flasher: Still Life

Still Life
The beautiful blue sky was suddenly overrun and overwhelmed by boiling, bubbling storm clouds that appeared from nowhere. A fierce cold wind blew through the open window, whipping the gauzy curtains about, turning the pages of the ancient arcane tome and causing the flowers in the vase to tremble fearfully.

"Huh." Thought Michael Parkes' fluffy Persian cat as it sat on the ledge of the open window, watching the conjured storm and the scattering vacationers as they frantically fled to safer harbors. "So, that's what that spell does. Interesting."

Based on Michael Parkes painting, Still Life, that I have been staring at for the last two days in my living room as I have listened to Susan Cooper's Silver on the Tree, on audio tape.
