Little Things...

It has occurred to me that while everything has changed, nothing really has. As of yesterday, Microsoft became the rightful owner of PlaceWare. I now, officially, work for the Evil Empire™. We've been introduced to the new bosses. Suddenly, I am part of a company that employs tens of thousands of people instead of a couple hundred.

We had a company celebration for this occasion yesterday but I didn't go. Not because I didn't want to, but because I had a kitty cat depending on me to be home on time in order for him to be picked up and adopted by his new family.

There is a lesson there. I'm having a hard time articulating it. I think it goes something along the lines of: No matter how big the event, there are always the little things to look out for and little things do mean a lot.

The big changes are coming. That much is certain. For now, it is business as usual. Time to keep on chugging on. In the meantime, I want to know when I get to be fitted for my Imperial Intelligence* uniform and receive my Imperial symbol.

*Of course QA is Imperial Intelligence. We're the ones who know how it all works and our job is to break it in as many ways as possible. QA's unofficial motto is "We mock your pain." Besides, I look fabulous in silver and black.
