Impossibly geeky

I have a new computer coming. My main machine is almost three years old and that poor laptop has been beat almost to death. Now, the connection between my laptop and my large monitor seems to be going. It still works but it cuts out from time to time. Jeff decided NOW was the time to get me a new workhorse of a machine. I can't disagree.

I gave him my wants as well as my needs. It needed to be a desktop and it needed to be able to do everything my current machine does and I wanted it to play games like Guild Wars: Trilogy (or the forthcoming Elder Scrolls: Skyrim) like a champ.

Jeff said OK and found me a machine. 16 gig of RAM and 2 terabytes of memory.

I nearly fell off my chair when he told me that. I'm giddy with delight.

We don't have it in the budget to get me a new monitor. Beggars can't be choosers. But, really, I want one of those lovely widescreen things. It's not in the budget, yet. Yet. Maybe, someday.

The waiting is delicious pain. This is what antici--pation tastes like.

I can't wait!
