BPAL Reviews

Previous BPAL Reviews and my Summary page of all reviews for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents.

Scent: Euphrosyne
Description: Gardenia, tea rose, vanilla and jasmine.
Thoughts: When I first put it on, the gardenia was overwhelmingly strong. This is a very floral scent. (Duh.) Too "girly" for me.
Buy: No

Scent: Horreur Sympathique
Description: The perfume of a hellbound soul, gleefully lost to iniquity: blood musk, golden honey, thick black wine, champagne grapes, tobacco flower, plum blossom, tonka bean, oakmoss, carnation, benzoin, opoponax, and sugar cane.
Thoughts: This is a fabulous scent. It is sweet but not too sweet. There is a sensuous warmth to it and it wears well. Good character scent or night scent.
Buy: Keep the imp

Scent: Kitsune-Tsuki
Description: Kitsune-Tsuki are malevolent Japanese spirits, akin to western werebeasts: women are possessed by the spirits of foxes, who compel them to perform acts of wickedness and mischief. Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk.
Thoughts: The white musk in this scent is very nice. It pushes down the floral scent, making it warm, soft and sweet.
Buy: Keep the imp

Scent: La Belle Dame Sans Merci
Description: The name translates to "The beautiful woman without mercy", and is the title of an old French court poem that was later revamped by John Keats. A bewitching seductive scene, rife with mystery and foreboding.
Thoughts: I don't know what's in it but I know I like it. It really does have a sense of foreboding about it. It is sensual and warm with a hint of sweetness and a black undertone.
Buy: Keep the imp

Scent: Les Bijoux
Description: Skin musk and honey, blood-red rose, orange blossom, white peach, red apple, frankincense and myrrh.
Thoughts: It is cloying at first and very heavy. Then, it moves to something light and sweet. I like it but not as much as some of the others.
Buy: No

Scent: Lightning
Description: Lightning slashing the midnight skies over the endless reaches of the ocean. The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain.
Thoughts: It smells like ozone with a slight sweet undertone. While not bad, it is not to my taste. Though, I suppose it would be a good character scent for someone always messing with electricity.
Buy: No.

Scent: The Lion
Description: The dry, glorious warmth of the Savannah. A golden, spiced amber, proud, regal and ferocious.
Thoughts: Man, this is nice. It is a warm, spicy amber that smells wonderful on me. Definitely a keeper. Maybe even one to buy in the future. Not too heavy. Warm and sensual.
Buy: Keep the imp

In dire need of distraction...

I just did something incredibly ballsy. Help. I need distraction so I don't hyperventilate.

Ask me anything. If I cannot answer due to contractual agreements and good old fashioned discretion, I will say so.

BTiLC Are you insane

Answers but no questions 1

wastededucation - At a party in 1994 where the boyfriend was ignoring me and I was mad at him.

fullcontactmuse - Missionary. Standard, I know. But I like to hold my partner.

dancingshaman - I gave a company I really admire and would like to work with a hard deadline.

ren_wench - I met him at Microsoft. My fabulous ex-boss wanted me to play in his D&D game. I did and there he was. As for the other question, it was "The Dark is Rising" series by Susan Cooper.

bunyip - Either it was spending the night in my boyfriend's all male dorm building or it was repelling out of my dorm building.

deirdremoon - Of course we will. At this point, it may be better to wait until I drive down to Conquest to get them.

zunger - Of those choices? Rum. Definitely.

naamah_darling - I'm very fond of griffins. They are cool and can be vicious. As for the other question. I think scene transitions vex me the most. I have "A" and I have "B" and "B" logically follows "A" but sometimes shifting from "A" to "B" is a lot harder than it should be.

cooperati - Saying I am one. It makes people curious about me. They always wonder if I have the powers of being one. Sadly, no.

ldragoon - I really have no idea. I suppose it was based on what they knew about the world and the universe at that point in time. It's kind of like they thought the world was flat. Based on what was known... it just made sense.

cuddlycthulhu - Yes. I'll be there. I'm going to drive down for it and stop by a friend's place on the way back up.

gryphart - That's a tough one. I'm going to go with Hawaii because of being able to swim with wild dolphins. Belgium is second because its architecture.

baronlaw - I have not yet decided. I probably will not. It is going to be a play convention for me.(Except for at least one meeting with a game publisher.)

koga - Easy. Three fast moving ones. Why? Because the population as a whole is very slow to react to danger without getting a few bites. So, three could very easily become three thousand and that is damn scary. I take slow moving ones over fast moving ones any day.

seabelle - 7th Sea!! Duh. But you knew that already.
