Wake Up

This is my life right now...

"My father says that almost the whole world is asleep. Everybody you know. Everybody you see. Everybody you talk to. He says that only a few people are awake and they live in a state of constant total amazement." ~Patricia in "Joe Versus the Volcano"

For the past ten days, I've been state of constant total amazement.

I'm back to sitting on stuff I'd love to talk about until Certain New Things Happen.

Growth Still Hurts

I'm in a little pain right now. I'm working with my co-editor at Morrigan Books on the Grants Pass anthology. As warned, not all of the stories originally accepted could be kept because of the enhanced theme and updated background to the story premise. I asked her to write the various letters of acceptance and rejection because I was too close to it and knew it. All of these people have been with me for years, hoping the anthology would be sold. Tonight, all of the notices were read and approved by me and then sent out to the authors.

I know this is the best for the anthology. I know it. Every story cut that doesn't work with the flow of what we're creating will make my anthology stronger. But, it still hurts. I've just approved cutting out pieces of my baby.
