This time around was a very strange set of stories. Most were well written but just awful stories to read. Unpleasant and not very appealing in a horror or "Edge of Propinquity" sense. I kept a couple as "maybes" because they were interesting and fit the theme. Also, for the first time, I emailed an author back and asked for rewrites on the end of the story.

My SO rocks! (Or is really disturbing...)

Jeff sat me down tonight and forced me to start watching Dexter, a Showtime original TV series. He insisted that I, as a horror author and the author of my Freaky Friday Fiction, really needed to see it. Here is the show blurb:

Playing a sympathetic serial killer may sound like a stretch, but former "Six Feet Under" star Michael C. Hall pulls it off neatly in this Showtime drama about a likable forensics expert who channels his violent tendencies by killing miscreants who've avoided punishment. So harmless is Dexter Morgan's (Hall) demeanor that neither his girlfriend (Julie Benz) nor his sister (Jennifer Carpenter) has any inkling of his extracurricular activities.

This show is awesome. It is fucked up and disturbing and I am disturbed at how much I really like it. Seriously.
