Right Now

From hernewshoes. What am I doing right now?

Eating: Nothing.
Drinking: Water (but my double tall white chocolate mocha is calling my name)
Wearing: Blue jeans and a Norwescon t-shirt
Hearing: My cat moving around behind me.
Reading: The Rules to "Normal" Eating and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
Planning: To go to work, to finish up my next Abstract Thoughts post, polish my last BPAL review and to get that mocha.

So... What are you doing?

BPAL Reviews

Previous BPAL Reviews and my Summary page of all reviews for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents.

Scent: Malice
Description: A profound, complex scent that encapsulates the joy one finds in another's pain. Ylang ylang, clove, Indonesian red patchouli, and dark myrrh.
Thoughts: I like this one. It is complex and heady. I put on a light application and I think I could stand a little bit heavier one but I would need to be careful. It is strong. Spicy. I like the combination of clove and myrrh.
Buy: No but keep the imp.

Scent: Rakshasa
Description: This haunting, exotic scent is named in honor of the shapeshifting demons from Hindu mythology. Sandalwood with rose and patchouli.
Thoughts: An extra imp and nasty. Not much else to say here. Had to wash it off.
Buy: No

Scent: Rapture
Description: Sensual ecstasy, the blinding red fire of the apex of sexual pleasure: Moroccan rose, Sumatran rose, mandarin, Egyptian myrrh, night-blooming jasmine, bergamot and neroli thrust into Arabian musk.
Thoughts: This one was way, way too strong. Too much musk and not enough spice.
Buy: No

Scent: Snake Oil
Description: Magnetic, mysterious, and exceedingly sexual in nature. A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla.
Thoughts: Very nice. Sweet and feminine but not too sweet with a hint of spice. I like it.
Buy: No but keep the imp.

Scent: Vicomte De Valmont
Description: Based on an 18th century gentleman's cologne: ambergris, white musk, white sandalwood, Spanish Moss, orange blossom, three mints, jasmine, rose geranium and a spike of rosemary.
Thoughts: Oh my gosh. This screams "man - wicked and divine" like no other. Where Casanova was yummy, male and seductive, this is so masculine as to scold my nose for daring to put it directly on to female flesh instead of having it rubbed on in foreplay. Nice but too masculine.
Buy: No

The Merc on Friday?

Anyone want to carpool to the Mercury this Friday? I really, really want to go and not drive. I would be happy to toss gas money your way and I can guest two people in. Pretty please?
