The Tale of Jennifer and the House Taxes...

Today, the universe said "I really don't think Jennifer has enough to stress about. I think I'll give her something more."

I said, "What the hell are you talking about and what do you mean the taxes on my houses are delinquent?"

The awesome realtor's cell phone voice mail said, "I'm sorry. I'll be out of town until the 28th."

The awesome realtor's awesome assistant's voice mail said "I'm sorry. I'm not here right now."

I said, "HELP!"

The awesome realtor's awesome assistant's voice mail to me said "I'll look into it but you call the mortgage company."

The mortgage company said, "Not our fault. Call the Escrow company."

The escrow company said, "Not our fault. Talk to mortgage company."

I said, "*wah*!" and there was much gnashing of teeth.

The awesome escrow lady said, "Never fear, the awesome realtor's awesome assistant called me and I know what to do. We will call the mortgage company together."

*ring* "Mortgage company."

The awesome escrow lady said, "I'm from the escrow company. You all screwed up paying the taxes on Jenn's home. I want you to admit this and assume all delinquent charges. Plus, I want to make sure there's enough money in the account to cover the year's taxes and tell me when this will be fixed."

The mortgage company said, "It's all our fault. Yes, she does have enough money. Our tax people will talk to the county's tax people within 3 to 5 days."

I said, "Why wasn't it paid in the first place?"

The mortgage company said, "I don't know. I'll have to get back to you. Here is my name and my extension. Call me on Friday."

And there was must rejoicing and the wishing of a stiff drink.
