Conversations with the Husband

"Sometimes, on Christmas, I like to drive around to see how abandoned everything looks."

"I was kinda thinking about the same thing."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I'm hungry."

"Well, everything is closed right now. It's Christmas."

"We won't know that until we see for ourselves."

"Ah. So, it's Schrodinger's Christmas?"

"Yep. All restaurants are both open and closed until we look at them. "

"Ok. Let's go!"

Note: For the record, all of the gas stations with their 7-11's and AM/PM's were open. Along with H-Mart in Alderwood (Asian Food Market), and the two 24-hour fast food places in Bothell: McDonald's and Jack in the Box. Everything else was closed. It was cool.

You can usually count on the Asian food places and markets to be open on Christmas. It's a Chinese thing.

When I was driving up to the barn on Christmas day I had the thought that one of the best things about Christmas is how abandoned everything is and how empty all the roads are. It was like it was 2 in the morning, but with daylight!
