Randomly started a story for "Sword and Sorceress 24" that starts with the line I was nine years old when my father taught me how to kill.

Yeah. We're here. We're done shopping. I have a huge Amazon gig to do ASAP. But we've had a good time.

Crockpot chicken in wine sauce for dinner tonight.

I think you can come up with a few more random lines to start that story. Of course someone in the story you need to have the line. "And then I had the ultimate experience." or "I now had all the power in the world at my grasp."

At least those were the common phrases that popped up most often when people wrote character backgrounds for just about any online MU* (Mush/MUX, etc) I've administered on. No matter what the genre. *grin*

although your starting point does leave the reader always wanting to hear more to know which way this story will twist.

SUPER easy.

1-2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken.

Sauce:
1 cup of decent white wine
1 10oz can of cream of mushroom soup
1 10oz can of french onion soup (or french onion soup mix and 10oz of water)
Mix well.

Pour sauce over chicken and set crockpot to cook for 6-8 hours. It is ready in six.

Serve over rice.

This last time I added 2 tablespoons of minced garlic. It is a really easy and nummy dish.

Sounds tasty. I wish mushrooms agreed with my stomache better. I love the taste.

I will bet that it would work as well with cream of chicken or cream of broccoli. Maybe even cream of potato.
